First Signs of Spring
So small and unassuming and yet so bright and cheerful, this little crocus surfaces among the desolate winter flower beds. Beside it rests the dormant rose, branches trimmed back for winter rest, and scattered around the little yellow flower lie the last of the fallen leaves from the apple tree.
However, pushing aside the decomposing foliage are little patches of newly growing flora, heralding the coming of spring. Soon there will be colour throughout the garden but for now, this little crocus brightens the garden all on its own.
