The Pier
A metal frame stands strong against the ever changing mood of the sea. Salty air blows in from the ocean, getting ever stronger as you meander further along the wooden deck. At the far end you are greeted with an endless view of open water stretching out below with only a distant haze marking the divide between sea and sky.
Seagulls circle in the sky above their piercing cries carried by the wind. Looking out for their next meal they perch on lampposts and railings, their eyes constantly surveying the visitors in hopes of a quick snack.
But for a moment, while leaning over the rails and watching the waves below, it is almost as if you too are airborne, riding the air currents, wings outstretched in the breeze.
