Forest Wanderings
Wandering along narrow forest trails, the ground soft underfoot from last night’s rain I take in the sights, sounds and scents of the world around me.

The freshness of the air is laced with hints of damp bark and soil. The air is cool in the shade of the trees but comfortably warm as the sun peaks through the branches. But it is the sight of new life and colour that enthrals me as bright greens break up the brown monotone of the late winter woods.

As I near the end of my walk, I come upon a small clearing where light more easily reaches the forest floor. Taking advantage of the extra sunlight is a patch of Daffodils growing defiantly amongst the imposing trees, their colour and cheer heralding the imminent arrival of spring.
